Using the site
You may read without an account. To post you need an account, and you agree to give accurate
registration details and to keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens
under your account.
One account per person, please. Do not register an account to impersonate somebody else, and do
not use a callsign in a username unless it is yours.
What you post
You keep ownership of what you write. By posting, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide,
royalty-free licence to store, display and distribute it as part of this site, including in search
results and feeds. You confirm you have the right to post it — do not paste in articles, photographs
or diagrams that belong to someone else.
Quoting a short passage with attribution and a link is normal and welcome. Reproducing an entire
article from another publication is not.
Conduct
The rules that matter here are the ones that keep a technical forum useful:
- Stay roughly on topic, and put a thread in a sensible place.
- No spam, no bulk promotion, no affiliate-link dumping. Mentioning a product you actually use is
fine; posting to sell is not.
- No harassment, no personal attacks, no hate speech.
- Do not post other people's personal information.
- Do not post material that is illegal where you are, and do not use the site to arrange anything
that is.
Amateur radio is a licensed service. Discussing regulations, enforcement and grey areas is
legitimate and expected; posting instructions for operating outside your privileges, defeating type
acceptance, or interfering with other stations is not.
Accuracy, and what advice here is worth
This is a discussion forum. Posts are opinions of the people who wrote them, including on
regulatory questions. Nothing here is legal advice, and nothing here replaces the actual
rules that apply to you. Regulations differ by country and change over time — verify
anything that matters against your own regulator before you act on it.
The same goes for anything involving mains voltage, RF exposure, towers, or working at height.
Technical suggestions are offered in good faith by people who cannot see your station. You are
responsible for your own safety and for your station's compliance.
Moderation
We may edit, move, retag, hide or remove content, and suspend or close accounts, where that keeps
the site useful. We try to explain moderation decisions when asked. Hiding a thread is reversible;
we prefer it to deletion.
Availability
The site is provided as is. We do not promise it will be available without interruption, and we
are not liable for loss arising from downtime, data loss, or reliance on anything posted here, to
the extent the law allows.
Changes
These terms may change. Material changes will be reflected in the date at the top. Continuing to
use the site after a change means you accept it.
